- Purchase Pro and download
handshake-invoicing-pro.zipfrom your confirmation email or License page - Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload the zip, Activate
- Go to HandShake → License and activate your license key
If Pro is installed but the free plugin isn’t active, you’ll see an admin notice prompting you to install/activate HandShake Invoicing first.
First-time setup
After activating, follow these four steps:
Step 1 — Fill in your company details
Go to HandShake → Settings → Your details (From).
Enter your company name, email, address, VAT number, IBAN, and any other details you want to appear in the “From” block on every invoice PDF. Leave any field blank to hide it.
Step 2 — Configure invoice numbering
Still in Settings, under Invoice numbering, set your prefix (e.g. INV or your initials) and the starting number. The preview updates live so you can see exactly what your first invoice number will look like.
Step 3 — Set your send day
Under Sending schedule, choose the day of the month invoices should go out. You can pick any day from 1 to 31, or “Last day of month”. If the chosen day doesn’t exist in a given month (e.g. the 31st in April), the invoice sends on the last valid day instead.
Step 4 — Add your first client
Go to HandShake → Clients and fill in the client’s name, email, amount, and currency. Click Add client.
That’s it. On the next occurrence of your configured send day, an invoice will be generated and emailed automatically.
Sending a test invoice
You don’t have to wait for the scheduled day. On the Clients page, click Send next to any client. A modal will appear showing the default line item pre-filled — just click Send invoice to send immediately, or click Preview PDF first to see exactly what the client will receive.
